The result of a collaboration between motoring giants Toyota and Suzuki, the new Toyota Starlet introduces a welcome slice of enigmatic to the market. It is an exciting blend of innovation that still echoes clear Toyota standards of reliability and durability. There are exciting changes that Toyota has introduced with their new range, and many will only further the brand in this segment.
Toyota has placed a clear emphasis on space with the launch of the new Starlet. Comfort is always factored in when it comes to the brand, and it is underlined here. The new Starlet comes equipped with additional 314 liters of boot space and more legroom. Attention has also been paid to remodeling the exterior.
The Toyota Starlet crafts a statuesque figure, with bold LED projector lamps that include front fog lamps and LED daytime running lights. This design continues as we explore the back of the vehicle, which is also powered by LED brake lights. There is also a mindful addition of auto-retractable mirrors, which fold inwards when the driver is parked.
Each model in the range comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. The Toyota Starlet is designed to be as economical as possible, with the manual version of the range consuming a mere 5.4 liters of petrol per 100km/s and the automatic consuming 5,7 liters of petrol per 100km/s. This is an important factor, especially when we consider the current rise in fuel costs.
The onboard tech is also an additional welcome with this new range. The Starlet comes standard with a touchscreen infotainment system that is ready and compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There is also Bluetooth and USB connectivity throughout the vehicle, not to mention the in-car WiFi. Toyota has not left a stone unturned when the came to the aspect of onboard entertainment.
Despite the clear leaps in tech and innovation, Toyota knows where it shines: Safety. The Starlet does not disappoint, with the inclusion of Rear Park Distance Control, airbags for the driver and passenger, as well as an ABS braking system. There is also the inclusion of Hill Assist Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, and Vehicle Stability Control. It is reassuring that Toyota has not just decorated this new range with everything that current vehicle innovation offers, but has remained consistent in the safety features that it offers its customers.
