The all-new rally-to-road Gazoo Racing Yaris, designed specifically by Toyota's performance division Gazoo Racing, combines motorsport-derived engineering and performance to personify the joy of pushing your car to the limit.
Featuring a GR badge that signals an exciting experience is about to unfold, something astounding, white-knuckling - the GR Yaris denotes passion and power. The Toyota Gazoo Racing ethos is one of pedigree. And now the blazing-hot Gazoo Racing Yaris, the ultimate performance hatchback with speed in its DNA from its World Rally Championship-winning sibling, is available.
Specially developed by Gazoo Racing, the performance division of Toyota, the rally-to-road Gazoo Racing Yaris incorporates motorsport-derived engineering and performance to personify the thrill of on-the-limit driving pleasure. The GR Yaris range comprises two models, each with a 1.6l turbocharged engine:
A strong, coupé-like profile can be seen when the GR Yaris Rally is viewed from the side. It has a three-door body, a sleekly slung roof that is painted black, frameless doors, and a body with no rear doors.
The GR Yaris Rally was appropriately built from the ground up to provide tremendous performance. Its 1.6l, 3-cylinder, DOHC, 12-valve engine's small size and lightweight feature competition-tuned features include:
The GR Yaris features a new GR-FOUR permanent all-wheel-drive system which is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox to manage this incredible power. The transmission has an Intelligent Manual Transmission with a configurable automatic rev-matching for incredibly smooth downshifts.
Performance-equipped inside and out, the GR Yaris Rally has been significantly improved by Gazoo Racing beyond its high-performance mechanical foundation. Its ultra-athleticism is also a result of its meticulous design and use of cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, such as the adoption of a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) roof that is 91 mm lower than non-GR Yaris Rally versions while maintaining high rigidity and low weight.
Fitted with one of the most powerful production 3-cylinder engines in the world, the maximum power output of the new GR Yaris is rated at 198 kW @ 6 500 r/min and peak torque of 360 Nm available between 3 000-4 600 r/min.
