The latest range of Toyota Corolla sees the world's best-selling vehicle delve into impressive tech and innovation. Not only does the model boast a stirring face-lift, but it also features a stunning cabin. It is available in four different variants:
Whilst the leaps in innovation certainly stand out, Toyota does not pivot too far away from what has made the Corolla so successful in the first place: Simplicity and practicality. Let’s peruse the features a little more closely.
By its own admission, Toyota knew it needed to add style to the Corolla. It could have been easy to rest on its laurels, but the design of the model is a great departure from what we would normally expect from Toyota. An immediate stand-out would be the rounded engine hood. This gives the Toyota Corolla a polished and sporty feel. It also hints at luxury, which is not immediately something that we would associate with the practical Toyota Corolla.
The new Corolla range comes with a choice of 15” to 18” alloy wheels. There is also a range of colours available, from Glacier White to Dark Blue Metallic. Another standout with the exterior of the vehicle is the LED lights. Not only do the rear led lights add to the vehicle’s overall appearance, but it also increases the driver's visibility. The same is true for the front LED headlamps, which have also undergone a modern redesign. Perhaps the most dramatic departure from Toyota’s regular aesthetic would be the inclusion of the honeycomb grille, which is a fresh and welcome addition to the vehicle.
As we observe the interior of the Toyota Corolla, there are some familiar features here. Some may recognize the infotainment system which allows your smart device to sync to the vehicle through Apple Carplay or Android Auto. There is also the MyToyota app functionality, a convenient addition that allows the driver to book a service appointment or even request roadside assistance.
There are also some plush touches with the leather finishes. These can be found on the leather steering wheel and partial leather seats. The innovative features underline Toyota’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety and comfort. The electrochromatic rearview mirror is designed to minimize glare, and the reverse parking enables the driver to reverse park with ease. Adaptive cruise control is also available here, assisting drivers in maintaining a set speed.

The first model in our range is the Toyota Corolla 1.8 XS CVT. This petrol derivative is equipped with 5 seats and 4 doors.

All variants that have been assembled between 2014 and 2019 received 5/5 reliability ratings. Consumer Reports have noted that these are the best variants that Toyota has produced so far.
This model remains as safe as ever. The NHTSA has given it a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating.
