MEGAN MOODLEY SELECTED AS VWSA’S BEST APPRENTICE

  • Megan Moodley chosen as one of the top 50 young talents in the Volkswagen Group
  • Winners include apprentices from 42 sites in 19 countries
Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) employee Megan Moodley has been named one of the Best Apprentices in the Volkswagen Group worldwide.

The Best Apprentice award is given each year in recognition of the outstanding performance from employees within the Group. In 2022, this group consisted of a total of 50 apprentices, hailing from 42 Volkswagen Group sites in 19 countries.

The award winners were recently honoured during a virtual ceremony hosted by the Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume, Board Member for Human Resources Gunnar Kilian, and Group Works Council chairperson Daniella Cavallo. “At a time of increasing skill shortages worldwide, it is a strong and important signal that the Volkswagen Group keeps reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards in vocational training,” said Kilian.

Moodley, 36, has been with VWSA for 17 years, having started his journey with the company in the Paint Shop. He is currently completing a Mechatronics learnership at VWSA’s B Plant, training to ultimately work as an artisan in production.

“It is an honour to be selected for this award,” said Kariega-born Moodley. “It serves as a stepping stone in the right direction, and I am hopeful that it will open doors to many opportunities in future. This recognition is not just for me, but for our whole team.”

“VWSA prides itself on empowering the talent we have in our workforce, and the Best Apprentice awards programme shows every year that our talent is world-class,” said Martina Biene, VWSA Chairperson and Managing Director. “I would like to congratulate Megan on this well-deserved achievement, which was made possible through his hard work and dedication to VWSA.”
