HAVAL SA TRAVELLED THE COUNTRY TO GIVE BACK TO SOUTH AFRICA

HAVAL Motors recently set out on a countrywide journey to give back to South Africa. Travelling 4500+ kilometres from Johannesburg to Cape Town via numerous of SA's major cities, the Haval South Africa team made various steps throughout their trip to make charitable donations to worthy causes.

Setting out in a convoy consisting of two Haval H9 models, two H6C models, as well as an H2 and a GWM Steed 5E that functioned as a support vehicle, the team was ready to hit the road to give back to the country that had welcomed it so warmly. Charles Zhao, Managing Director of HAVAL Motors South Africa was quoted as saying that the initiative was a way of showing their support and appreciation to a market that had met its initial campaigns with much enthusiasm.

Starting with a stop at the Kruger National Park, the first recipient of the Haval donations was the park’s K9 unit, which received R10 000 to continue their good work. From there, it was on to Sodwana and Durban where the team met up with the organisers of the Marine Surf Lifesaving Club and Wylie House Child and Youth Care Centre to hand over assorted equipment and supplies to support their valuable work in their respective communities.

Next up, the convoy made their way to East London after a stopover at a newly-established dealership in Shelly Beach to celebrate the launch of the all-new H9, and then travelled on to Port Elizabeth where a Forest Green H9 was handed over to Haval brand ambassador Tom Swartz, who was named the winner of Survivor South Africa 2018 earlier this year.

From there, the team’s journey took them to Knysna and Cape Agulhas to test the endurance of the Haval vehicles on some challenging terrain before continuing on to the Mother City. The Outreach Expedition ultimately ended in Cape Town on the 4th of October 2018, and according to the Haval representatives involved in the initiative, it was a great success.
