The Haval Jolion has been a top seller in South Africa's compact SUV market since its launch in 2021 and has helped increase HAVAL's market share in our beautiful country. The fact that the company is now adding a new model, the Jolion S, to the range did not come to a surprise to us.
The Jolion range already consisted of five models, ranging from the entry level CITY to the SUPER LUXURY variant. All 5 existing models utilising the same engine but offer a choice of two gearboxes.
HAVAL offers an extremely high level of specification as standard fitment on the Jolion S. It is equipped with a new generation 1.5-liter engine that has an upgraded turbocharger and provides 25kW and 60Nm more power than the standard Jolion model, sporting an impressive 130kW between 5 500 and 6000rpm and 270Nm between 1 500 and 4 000rpm.
This powerful engine is paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission that provides smooth shifting and is specifically designed to optimize engine performance. The Jolion S also features a unique launch control feature to achieve maximum acceleration from a standstill position.
You have the ability to customize your driving experience through the use of the Jolion’s four driving modes. Standard mode is suitable for everyday driving, while Eco mode helps you conserve fuel. Sport mode enhances the car's performance, and Snow mode is designed to provide better traction on slippery roads.
Additionally, there are three dynamic adjustable steering modes: Sport, Comfort and Light which allow you to adjust according to your preference.
The sporty, unique design of the Jolion S boasts some classy styling enhancements that give the car a distinctive look and sets it apart from other models in its class. This includes a chrome honeycomb patterned front grille, blacked-out front and rear bumper garnish, side mirror caps, door beadings, and roof rails. The 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in a glossy black and are fitted with 225/55 R 18 tires to provide better stability and handling, making the Jolion S both stylish and fun to drive.
The interior of the HAVAL Jolion S is designed to be both comprehensive and well-equipped, ensuring that you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable drive. Upgraded seating in de Jolion S includes front seat heating to keep you warm on chilly days. Additionally, the rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 configuration, which provides additional luggage space as needed. This feature is great for long road trips, or when you need to carry more cargo.
When it comes to safety, you can rely on HAVAL to only offer the best. The Jolion S is equipped with a wide range of the latest safety features such as dual and front side airbags and curtain airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability System (ESC) and Traction Control, Anti-Roll System, Secondary Collision Mitigation, and Hill Assist.
The vehicle also includes several driver systems such as Lane Departure Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane centre keeping, Blind spot detection, Lane change assist, and Driving fatigue detection. Two unique safety features on this model are the pre-collision warning and automatic emergency braking system.
