If VW intended to make a statement about just how exceptional a bakkie could be, we hear it loud and clear. The latest range is available in 5 models:
The latest VW Amarok is an exercise in simplicity or mere practicality. It is designed to push the envelope of what we can expect from traditional off-road vehicles. This is evident when we explore the interior and exterior features of the vehicle.
Unlike many of its peers, the Volkswagen Amarok did not just add a few touches here and there to allow us to differentiate between the variants. There are distinct differences between all the trims. All models do, however, share some commonalities. The front design is striking in that it creates a feeling of dominance. All models are also equipped with privacy glass and a wide load bin.
The latter is another standout, as it is the deepest load bin assembled yet in the Amarok range. It comes standard with a third brake light that assists with loading items when natural daylight has deteriorated. The tailgate has also been designed to operate in a trouble-free manner, a great addition to this kind of vehicle as this is a persistent problem. Let’s have a look at some of the standard interior features of the range.
There are standard interior features in all the Amarok variants which include adjustable driver and passenger seats, as well as an adjustable steering wheel. What differentiates this vehicle from its competitors, however, is the details.
Whilst most models naturally come equipped with a multi-function display, the Amarok’s is in high resolution. There are also luxury finishes with the leather-covered steering wheel and the useful “Winter Package”. This functionality assists during those cold mornings with items such as a washer fluid display and heated windscreen washer nozzles.
Volkswagen followers will be familiar with the “Climatronic” air conditioning, which automatically adjusts the temperature in the vehicle. For convenience, there are also three 12V sockets which can be found in the cabin of the vehicle. The upholstery delivers on the promise of luxury that this range comes with. Drivers have the choice of Nappa, Vienna, and Salipra leather seats.

The first model in our range is the Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 BiTDI Double Cab Highline 4Motion. This diesel-derivative is equipped with 5 seats and 4 doors.

Sitting at the top of the range is the Volkswagen Amarok 3.0TDi Extreme 190KW 4Motion A/T D/C P/U. This diesel-variant comes standard with 190kW of power and 580Nm of torque.

Reviews have shown that the VW Amarok is an incredibly comfortable drive, especially in comparison to its rivals.
The Amarok has incredible off-road capabilities. One of the factors that contribute to its performance is the amount of torque that the range is equipped with.
It does contain meaning indeed. It means “wolf” in the Inuit language.
Both vehicles are equally as heavy, but the Ranger has got the longer wheelbase.
The model performs exceptionally well on this terrain due to its torque.
The Volkswagen Amarok already has quite the reputation for being a formidable performer on the road. Yet this is not the only aspect that VW has focused on. The exterior styling is designed to stun even the most unruffled of consumers, and the interior is a haven for tech lovers.
