Once you set foot inside the new VW Caravelle interior, you’ll notice that this is no mere van. Decked out in a tasteful black and chrome trim, the quality is tangible – as is expected from a vehicle bearing the famous VW badge.
Its dashboard has received a welcome facelift, ensuring it feels even less like a van and more like an SUV. Soft-touch plastics, sturdy switches, and clearly labelled buttons on both the dashboard and steering wheel help make the driving experience an enjoyable one, each and every time.
The multi-function steering wheel is a welcome addition to the van. This steering wheel is convenient and stylish, allowing you to manage your tech without lifting a finger. The steering wheel has also been updated with a new power steering system. The electromechanical power steering allows for more driver assist systems and better steering precision.
There isn’t a seat in the Caravelle that doesn’t have a great view of the open road. Kids fighting for the best seat in the house will be a problem of the past at last. The Caravelle’s large windows make for good visibility, in most situations. An elevated driving position further enhances visibility. Even with the driver’s seat in its lowest position, you’ll still have a clear view of any upcoming hazards on the road.
You’ll also be impressed with the Caravelle’s 6.1s new digital cockpit. Not only is the interior sleek, but its features are also ahead of their time. One of the many reasons the VW Caravelle is so much more than just a van. The cockpit features a high-res 10.25-inch LED touchscreen, which is just 4cm under a ruler in our country! It also features a Discover Pro navigation system and USB charging ports.
The passenger and load compartment measures 4.3. This means your family, friends and luggage can all come along for the ride.
The seats are organised in three rows. There are two captain’s chairs in the front, followed by two nearly identical seats in the middle row and a three-seater bench in the back. All seats throughout the Caravelle are comfortable and will keep the driver and passengers alike happy, even during long road trips. Because the floor is flat, no one will have to deal with sitting astride the transmission tunnel.
One extremely useful feature of the new VW Caravelle interior is the ability to completely remove the second and third rows of seats, to win a whole lot of space and essentially turn your luxury people carrier into a van when necessary.
Even with the seats left in place, there’s more than enough room inside the Caravelle to fit seven adults comfortably. Nobody will be left feeling shorthanded when it comes to leg, head, or elbow room. Did we mention that the second-row seats can swivel around to face the rear row? The VW Caravelle’s back seats are accessed through a pair of sliding doors, which can be opened electronically by pressing buttons on either the dashboard or keys. Alternatively, you can simply open them by pulling at the door handles the traditional way (but, honestly, where’s the fun in that?). You and your kids won’t tire of the novelty anytime soon, plus it’s super convenient.
